Sterilization Processes for Medical Devices

Introduction

Sterile medical devices must be sterilized in a validated sterilization process. The objective of any sterilization process is to produce a product free of viable microorganisms. There are a variety of such sterilization processes available, Figure 1 shows sterilization processes which achieve microbial inactivation by a physical process and those by the action of a micro-biocidal chemical agent.
