Terminology and Definitions

Individual who uses a medical device for patient care or as defined in Health Technical Memorandum 01-01 part A - the individual who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the decontamination of reusable surgical instruments and for seeing that the decontamination process is operated safely and efficiently. Signed October 1971. Its objective: to ensure that European [CEN] and International [ISO] Standards are not in conflict with each other, but as consistent with each other as far as possible. Confirmation process, through the provision of objective evidence, that the requirements for a specific intended use or application have been fulfilled.
